
Brave additionally said the MV3 change will have no negative affect on the built in tracker & ad blocking within Brave Shields. Mozilla and Brave both came out and said they would continue to support MV2 extensions as we know them but we'll see how that evolves over time. Something else to note, we don't know what will happen with extensions as we know it once Manifest V3 is forced onto Chromium browsers (Jan 1, 2023). I'm not sure how often Brave updates their filter lists but it is possible to force update the filters in uBO as needed. There are some people that run uBO alongside Brave Shields and I haven't heard of any issues. If you aren't using uBO in medium block mode (script blocking this takes tinkering with most every site first visit), then you are more than likely fine sticking with Brave Shields as noted above.
